Roof Technologies

Where Innovation Meets Quality

Our Story

Roof Technologies was founded on a simple idea: a construction company can be run like a tech company. Most contractors are stuck in the past, still juggling paper files, sticky notes, and voicemails to manage million-dollar projects. That inefficiency shows up in missed details, delayed schedules, and confused homeowners who have no idea what is happening on their own property.

We built Roof Technologies to be different. Our proprietary back-end system keeps every crew, every material order, and every deadline in one place. Scopes of work are documented in writing before a project starts. Progress is photo-documented as crews work. When you call for an update, the answer is already in the system, not buried in someone's truck. The result is a cleaner, faster process for you, the client, with clear communication from the first estimate through the final walkthrough.

Meet the Founder

Kirk McCoy — Founder, Roof Technologies

Kirk has been in the roofing industry since 2010. He started as a sales rep, became a partner at ASAP Roofing, and during that run he built the back-end project-management platform that now powers Roof Technologies — Storm Cloud. That sequence matters: the technology came first. Roof Technologies was founded specifically to take a proven system and fold it into the contractor's day-to-day so the customer experience could finally match what every other industry already does well.

Kirk is a Colorado native, a Colorado State University graduate (Business Administration), and a born entrepreneur — he was running a vending-machine business at age 9, with machines placed in his dad's shop and other local businesses he could talk into a spot.

Both Sides of the Claim Table

Across his career Kirk has personally advocated through more than $100 million in insurance claims. He also spent a stretch working on the adjusting side — specifically to learn the work from the other end of the table. That dual-perspective experience is part of why Roof Technologies wins for clients on insurance work: knowing exactly which line items get cut on the first pass and exactly how to put documentation in front of an adjuster so the supplement gets approved is a learned skill, and Kirk has now learned it from both directions. He also holds an ICC Class B Commercial Roofing license — the standards-based credential that qualifies the holder to run commercial-scale roofing operations across multiple jurisdictions.

The Wylie, Texas Storm

Kirk's proudest moments as a roofer come from the projects everyone else shies away from. One of those moments was the Wylie, Texas hailstorm — a punch-through event where hail actually came through people's roofs and caused injuries inside their homes. Kirk happened to be in Dallas the day the storm hit, was on site within minutes of the front passing, and ended up tarping roofs in the rain to keep families dry. Local TV interviewed him during the work.

Family, Then Work, Then Everything Else

Kirk and his wife Joanne have eight kids at home — oldest is 13, youngest is 1. Joanne stays home with the family. Work and family effectively fill the calendar, and that's the way Kirk likes it. If you're hiring Roof Technologies, you're hiring a contractor whose name is on the door, whose family is in the same neighborhoods you live in, and whose reputation in this state matters to him personally.

What Makes Us Different

A lot of contractors talk about quality. We focus on the parts of the job most homeowners never see, because those are the parts that determine whether a project holds up for decades or starts failing the first bad winter.

  • Technology-enabled process: Our internal project management platform tracks crew schedules, material deliveries, inspection milestones, and homeowner communication in real time. Nothing falls through the cracks because nothing lives on a single person's clipboard.
  • Transparent pricing and documented scopes: Every estimate spells out what is included, what is not, and why. No vague line items, no surprise change orders for work that should have been priced up front.
  • One point of accountability: Every project runs under a single project manager who coordinates our in-house crews and our vetted trade partners. You always know the one number to call — no chain of finger-pointing if a detail needs fixing.
  • Insurance-claim expertise: Hail and wind events are a fact of life in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wyoming. We document storm damage thoroughly and work directly with your adjuster so your claim reflects what your roof and exterior actually need.
  • Full-service exterior: Residential and commercial roofing, solar, Tesla Solar Roof, gutters, windows, siding, stucco, exterior painting, and AC hail damage restoration. One company, one process, one standard.

Our Service Area

Roof Technologies serves Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wyoming — five states that share one hard truth: severe hail and wind storms are a regular event, not a rare one. Homes here need exteriors built for the climate, and homeowners here deserve a contractor who understands local code, local insurance carriers, and the specific damage patterns these storms leave behind.

Colorado: We work throughout the Denver metro area, including Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Westminster, Thornton, Aurora, Centennial, Littleton, and surrounding communities along the Front Range — plus Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and the Pikes Peak and Larimer County regions.

Kansas: We serve the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro (including Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, and Shawnee), the Topeka area, and the communities in between. Wherever hail, wind, or age has taken its toll, we can help.

Missouri: We cover the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro — Kansas City MO, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, and surrounding communities. Same hail, same wind, same documented process.

Nebraska: We serve the Omaha metro, including Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, and the greater Douglas and Sarpy County area. Eastern Nebraska sits on the edge of Tornado Alley, so roofs here need to be specified and installed for the weather that hits them.

Wyoming: We cover Cheyenne and Laramie County, where sustained high wind is the roofing challenge that defines every install — six-nail patterns, enhanced starter courses, and wind-rated materials are the baseline, not the upgrade.

Our Commitment

Every project ends with a walkthrough. That is non-negotiable. We do not consider a job complete until you have walked the property with us, reviewed the work, and confirmed you are satisfied with what we delivered.

  • BBB-accredited: We hold accreditation with the Better Business Bureau and stand behind our reputation publicly, not just on our own website.
  • Licensed and insured: We carry the licensing and insurance required to operate in the jurisdictions we serve, and we will provide proof of coverage on request before any work begins.
  • Warranty-backed work: Our installations are backed by manufacturer warranties on materials and our own workmanship warranty on labor, so you are protected long after the crew has left.
  • Customer-first finish: The final walkthrough is not a formality. It is the moment we confirm the job is done to your standard, not just ours.
